PT Indocoffee Global Export Leads Bondowoso Coffee Sustainability and Expands Global Supply

The Bondowoso coffee community, renowned for its distinctive Ijen–Raung Arabica, continues to advance its sustainability goals while building stronger connections with international buyers. Farmers across the highlands are adopting eco-friendly processing systems and enhanced traceability standards to meet the rising global demand for ethically sourced and high-quality coffee.
This month, producers under the Ijen Java Raung Coffee network successfully completed their first collective cupping and quality evaluation for the new harvest season. The results confirmed the community’s consistency — offering bright citrus acidity, floral aroma, and a clean, sweet aftertaste, hallmarks of Bondowoso’s growing reputation as one of East Java’s premium coffee origins.
“We are proud to see our farmers adopting better post-harvest methods and improving quality year after year,” said Marwan, Owner of PT Indocoffee Global Export. “Sustainability is no longer just a concept here — it’s a daily practice, from soil to shipment.”
To further strengthen its environmental commitment, the community is working closely with local agricultural agencies and youth farmer groups. Programs promoting organic composting, shade tree cultivation, and water efficiency in coffee washing are now active across multiple subregions around Ijen and Raung. These initiatives are designed to protect local ecosystems while ensuring long-term productivity and livelihood resilience.
At the same time, PT Indocoffee Global Export, the main manufacturer and exporter supporting the Bondowoso coffee network, has expanded its production capacity — now capable of processing and supplying hundreds of tons of green coffee monthly. This capacity allows the company to meet international demand efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and full traceability from farm to export.
Bondowoso coffee has recently drawn strong interest from specialty roasters in Turkey, Portugal, and the Middle East, who value its unique flavor profile and transparent sourcing story.
As the 2025 harvest season progresses, the Bondowoso coffee community — in collaboration with PT Indocoffee Global Export — stands as a model for sustainable, inclusive, and scalable coffee development in Indonesia.
